| Sacramento Northern #404 - Oakland Terminal Yard 1947 William Larkins photo The Western Pacific and Santa Fe purchased the Oakland Terminal Railway in 1942. Sacramento Northern #404 and #405 were leased to the Oakland Terminal in 1943. While serving on the Oakland Terminal the Sacramento Northern "tower" pantographs were removed and replaced with roof mounted pantographs. They were returned to the SN in 1947 or 1948 and used primarily on the north end of the railroad. |

| Note the old East Bay Transit/Key System buses in the back-round and the #440 sitting behind the #404. The Santa Fe yard can also be seen in the back-round of these photographs. Prior to the WP/ATSF takeover, the Oakland Terminal Railway was part of the Key System and the yard was known as Key's "Yerba Buena Yard". |
